The Three Musketeers (French: Les Trois Mousquetaires) is a novel by Alexandre Dumas, père. It recounts the adventures of a young man named d'Artagnan after he leaves home to become a guard of the musketeers. D'Artagnan is not one of the musketeers of the title; those are his friends Athos, Porthos, and Aramis—inseparable friends who live by the motto "all for one, one for all" ("tous pour un, un pour tous").[1]
The story of d'Artagnan is continued in Twenty Years After and The Vicomte de Bragelonne. Those three novels by Dumas are together known as the d'Artagnan Romances.
The Three Musketeers was first published in serial form in the magazine Le Siècle between March and July 1844.《三个火枪手》是法国十九世纪作家大仲马1844年出版的小说Les Trois Mousquetaires，又译作《三剑客》或《三剑侠》。
《三剑客》于1843年3月至1844年7月在巴黎《世纪报》上连载，法国文学批评家阿尔梅拉在《亚历山大‧仲马和〈三剑客〉》一书中指出：「三位才华大相径庭的作家共同写出这部小说：库尔蒂茨制订了梗概和情节；马凯拟了初稿；仲马赋予它生动的叙述、对话、风格与生命。」。1907年中国的伍光建翻译为《侠隐记》，多有删节，后来李青崖从法文译出全书，取名《三个火枪手》。
故事内容是平民出身的达达尼昂到巴黎投军，加入国王路易十三的火枪手卫队，和其它三个火枪手成为好朋友。他们为了保护王后奥地利的安妮的名誉，抗击红衣主教黎塞留，击败黎塞留设置的重重障碍，前往英国，从白金汉公爵那里取回王后的钻石，挫败了黎塞留挑拨国王和王后的阴谋。
