Treasure Island is an adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, narrating a tale of "pirates and buried gold". First published as a book in 1883, it was originally serialised in the children's magazine Young Folks between 1881-82 under the title The Sea Cook, or Treasure Island.

Traditionally considered a coming-of-age story, it is an adventure tale known for its superb atmosphere, character and action, and also a wry commentary on the ambiguity of morality—as seen in Long John Silver—unusual for children's literature then and now. It is one of the most frequently dramatised of all novels. The influence of Treasure Island on popular perception of pirates is vast, including treasure maps with an "X", schooners, the Black Spot, tropical islands, and one-legged seamen with parrots on their shoulders.　　《金银岛》(Treasure Island)作者是十九世纪出生在英国苏格兰爱丁堡，著名的文学作家罗伯特·路易斯·斯蒂文森（Robert Louis Stevenson）金银岛是他一生最畅销的小说之一。
　　作家的成名小说《金银岛》独树一帜，极富神奇浪漫色彩，其笔下的金银岛就是如今古巴的特别行政区：青年岛。他过去叫金银岛，也叫松树岛。在西班牙漫长的4个世纪殖民统治岁月里，那里是举世闻名的加勒比海盗呼啸聚众的天堂，那些逃犯和海盗在海上到处流窜，追击西班牙运输金银财宝和商货的船只，把抢来的金银财宝和商货运到这座荒无人烟的小岛上，藏于神秘的山洞里，慢慢享用。金银岛因此得名。
　　岛上到处是浓密的热带松林，松树岛也因此得名。森林里生活着中南美洲巨大的蜥蜴鬣蜥，硬毛鼠，背脊呈珊瑚状的鸽子、野猪和其他动物。海岸不规则，多小海湾，小海湾的名字无不与臭名昭著的海盗名字相连。海岛南部的海滩景色秀美，遐迩闻名，在埃斯特角6个著名的山洞里至今还保留着235幅远古土著印第安人的绘画；海地是奇特美丽的珊瑚地质构造，洞穴纵横。有无数管状海棉，五彩斑斓的各种鱼群，加勒比特色的海洋植物和丰富的海产品。这里是理想的潜水观赏海底世界的好地方。多种多样的动物群，主要是海鸥和海龟；还有鹈鹕、鹦鹉、啄木鸟、模仿鸟、金蜂鸟、苍鹭......。这里全年平均温度是摄氏27度，盛夏上升到28度，很少下雨。南长岛附近还有许多美丽的小岛。
